There were 6 stylists in the Supima Runway Show which was hosted by television personality Katrina Zsish and the board of judges that included New York Times fashion director Horacio Silva and Parsons Dean of Fashion Simon Collins.
The 6 designers included Sachika, Michael Venker, Nadia Ivanova, Robin Tomas, Heber Sanchez, Gina Desilva who were all allowed four different looks. Included in these looks each designer was asked to rethink the mens T-shirt with the winning style to be sold in Bloomingdale’s alongside the Supima Collection of luxury brands.
Nolcha took a look at all of the pieces and found these as our favorites.
Sachika: With a collection heavy in draping, ruffles and a palette of grey black and white, Sachika made the basic stand out due to silhouette, removable elements (cool butterfly sleeve) and interesting textiles like the Kaihara denim.
Herber Sanchez: Used a lot of denim in his collection and utilized zippers along with majestic jersey and net-skirting. A crowd favorite included his elegant net-skirted ballgown of Lu Thai shirting worked over into a cheveron bodice.
Congratulations to Robin Tomas who won the Bloomingdales T-shirt Contest, he re-thought the men's typical T by creating a triple-layer long sleeve t-shirt using majestic jersey.
And finally our Supima Stand-Out Gina Desilva who also won crowd favorite and best in show. With a beautiful collection of long gowns featuring circular-cut ruffles in Kalhara deniem, hand-dyed and shredded Sanko and Pagmat jerseys, and fine-wale corduroy by Carlo Bonomi.
