Entitled “Some Kind Of Bliss the Haleh Nematzadeh collection asks what would happen if the 1980’s ran into today’s “Eagle” Leather Bar?
Haleh used many 80’s influences in her design, bringing back bright neon colors that glow in the dark with the help of a black light. Sharp Vertical lines crossed the bodies of the models allowing an even more tapered waist-line, which hung to upper thigh, with broad shoulder-padded shoulders. Don Johnson would have been proud. This neon yellow blazer look was accompanied with above the knee white patent leather boots, which surprisingly enthused the audience with many “I’d wear that” comments.
Haleh used a great deal of wire inserted ruffles which kept the original form as the girls sauntered down the runway. All of the models had bright red lipstick with hair to the side and a little sparkle here and there.
She also touched back to a “One night in Bangkok” look of Chess Board influenced Black and white motif again with sharp vertical lines across a broad shouldered blazer. One half black and the other half white. This was somewhat reminiscent of a Pirot Doll.
All in all I think that her look was fun for the Spring/Summer. I think we’ll be seeing Neon colors in many collections for 2010.
