Metallics ruled at Andy The-Anh where models surprised by entering from the wrong end of the runway. Moody shades of black and grey also dominated, punctured by the dark burgundy of a lush velvet cape.
Demure bustiers shared space with office-appropriate ruffle blouses and pencil skirts. Sleeveless and flowy black dresses with ruffle- and racer-backs contrasted with geometric shapes in black and yellow. An abundance of shoulders and upswept hair gave this show an 80s feel, like Robert Palmer’s Addicted to Love. Everything could be worn by the girl next door. As The-Anh said post-show: “you have to come up with something different, but that people will want to wear.”-Laura AshdownLG Fashion Week Toronto Fall 09: Andy The-Anh
