Nicolas, known for painting beautiful women, spoke with Richards who suggested taking the theme of beauty to a whole knew controversial level…paint beautiful, but murdered women. The concept immediately sounds morbid or even quite offensive when you first hear about it but it is simply a nod to French film noir of the 40s and 50s. Presented in several acts, the work features beautiful women posed as characters in a fictitious murder scene.
A private viewing of Mortelle will be held at Ion Studio in Soho, on February, Friday the 13th from 8-10pm.
An exclusive Nolcha interview with the Artist to follow soon.
