On March 30th and March 31st, the Department of Design and Merchandising at Colorado State University presented its 2009 student apparel design show, “Framing Fashion: The Final Cut”.
Over six hundred were in attendance over the two nights to see original designs by both graduate and undergraduate designers. Many of the student designers are currently finishing internships with companies from New York to L.A. The show itself is planned and produced by undergraduate students in a credited promotions course.
This year’s show featured design lines ranging from resort wear to evening ensembles to a sportswear line made with organic materials. Several Awards were presented on the second night, including Best Line Concept (Katelin Wussow), Best Artwear (Lindsey Warren) and Best of show Victoria Scovell Thorpe.
Nolcha loved Thorpes little kimono-esque bustier. Rumor has it she is starting a boutique retail line in Denver so the public can love it just as much as we did.
The students who participated in the production are:
Aimee Morrow, Katelin Wussow, Katie Haggerty, Lesley Coleman, Lindsey Warren, Mindy Coulson, Rebecca Fields, Sarah Bredbenner and Victoria Scovell Thorpe
Graduate Level Designers: Britni Smith, Laura Hansen, Paige Emerich, Wildrose Hamilton and Sarah White.
