A carefully placed white rope hung from the ceiling and a platform went in and out of the instillation echoing space and time, which was simple but effective in creating a futuristic vibe at the Kanvis presentation this evening.
After several seasons of a break for the line the 2010 collection was cohesive, direct and well thought out for being mainly a denim line making it my favorite of the evening. Kfir, the designer, really nailed his market.
I would give praise to their fit, cuts and craftsmanship of the garments themselves as well as the vision that carried on the minimalist no hype theme throughout the men’s and women’s lines and made them work together. There were subtle contrasting fabrics and textures draped and asymmetrical.
Not to be ignored, accessorizing the whole collection was M Cohen who has created a nice name for himself in the past few years with his, bohemian chic beaded, roped and linked bracelets layered upon each other like a wristcuff.
Two of my favorite pieces were the Alpaca/wool blend poncho and the cotton twill jodphur pants with a suede treatment to them.
I think that the quality and the practicality will keep this line on the racks of our favorite boutiques for years to come.
