New York Entrepreneur Week (NYEW) will be held at Scholastic Auditorium in the SoHo district of New York City with sessions running Monday, April 12 through Friday, April 16. NYEW is a semi-annual week-long forum featuring educational workshops, keynote speeches by recognized business leaders, expert panels delivering mission critical and relevant advice and invaluable networking opportunities -- at a price entrepreneurs can afford. The stakes for entrepreneurship in New York could not be any higher and unlike diluted start-up or small business events, NYEW is the state's premier forum providing the framework and catalyst for conquering New York's economic challenges.
"Unstable times create unbelievable opportunities," said Gary Whitehill, founder of New York Entrepreneur Week (NYEW), who at age 26 organizes this inspiring event for thousands of innovators. "Small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs, many of whom are out of work, often lack the resources, support, and network to jump start their vision. There are a lot of smart people out there with great ideas who are limited by their lack of resources. This forum cultivates opportunities for entrepreneurs to create new alliances that can expand their business. New York Entrepreneur Week was founded with a vision toward providing the best and brightest to those who need it most -- the entrepreneur of $5 million in revenue and below."
By aggregating the most important disparate entrepreneurial stakeholders from around the state with remarkable entrepreneurs from around the world, attendees are given the chance to learn, grow, connect and leverage opportunities to drive exponential economic change. Speakers include:
- David S. Rose, Chairman of New York Angels, Founder of Angelsoft & Rose Tech Ventures
- Marc Cenedella, Founder of TheLadders.com
- Carley Roney, Co-Founder of The Knot
- Jeff Pulver -- Founder of Vonage, 140 Characters Conference, Pulver.com & Chairman of Vivox
- Ann Kaplan, President & CEO of iFinance Canada & Medicard Inc, Canadian Woman Entrepreneur of the Year
"For entrepreneurship to attain its potential in New York and develop into a powerful force driving the economy, we must break down barriers and build platforms which unite the entrepreneurial landscape. Now more than ever, it is critical for business owners of all sizes (especially entrepreneurs) to grow and sustain their network and New York Entrepreneur Week offers just that," said Gary.
New York Entrepreneur Week (NYEW) provides a wide breadth of content to attendees, ideal for those who have aspirations to start their own business as well as established business owners with millions in revenue -- from college students to laid-off executives seeking to change their career path. In 2009, NYEW drew an unprecedented 9,000 attendees both in person and online with an overwhelming success rate. One in every 36 attendees went on to incorporate a new business and one in every 75 attendees left the event with plans to start their own business.
Following the event Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., there will be an opportunity for attendees and speakers to connect over cocktails at a myriad of events throughout the week.
