Girls dressed as boys came in multiple forms down the runway. From the political wedding attire at Tuleh, to the jaunty prints at Roberto Cavalli models swaggered complete with short cropped hair and clean faced smirks.
A new trend in the “hoodie” popped up especially in New York, with Alexander Wang, Erin Wasson x RVCA and Tuleh again all producing cool fashionable more “dressy” versions of the usually function-only piece. Sportmax followed suit but Balenciaga with the stiff structured sporty sweatshirt version rocked the look best. And speaking of suits, the Victor/Victoria was everywhere from Chanel, to D and G , Junya Watanabe (who’s theme was still feminine but the suiting was pure male), Dolce and Gabbana’s Siciliano theme and Paul Smith’s colorful quirky banker complete with the bowler. Yet it was Ralph Lauren’s Steinbeck references and beautifully tailored suits that made us want to crop our hair and loose the lip gloss.
