Movimento took the tropical themes to new heights literally with their hair-raising headpieces created from palm leaves and tropical boutiques of flowers during their Spring/Summer 2010 collection on June 22nd. The tropical theme started with the decoration of the runway of giant crimson and yellow tropical flowers and trickled down the body to bathing suits and summer dresses. Chocolates browns, jungle greens, crimson red and mustard yellow comprised the color pallet. Brown palm leaves covered the bathing suits, which hung snug to the hips with bronze metal hardware resembling that of a horse bit. A cotton halter dress was fit for tropical temperatures with cream crochet over the shoulders falling into screen printed flowers, falling to the mid thigh. The collection was accessorized with over the shoulder circular tan whicker bags and lime green leather bags, both the shape and size of a palm tree leaf. Chunky plastic bracelets of the same tropical hue ran up and down the models arms, with heavy dark brown wooden necklaces sitting at their collarbone. It is a jungle out there and the Movimento collection made this into a reality.
