NRF 99th Annual Convention and EXPO

The NRF's 99th Annual Convention and EXPO proved to be the most comprehensive educational forum in the retail industry.  The self-motivating theme of “Opportunity” that laced every hallway (and the bathrooms) of the Jacob K. Javitz Convention Center of New York City.  From speakers including the CEO of Urban Outfitters to the President of Deeterworks, everyone left being inspired about social media.

The whole conference was filled with industry insights and broadcasts for what 2010 will bring with social media.  The consumer now owns the conversation and 2010 means we are all our own brands.  No one wants to be categorized and then infused into sub-cultures left to be generally and poorly advertised to.  Marketing for your brand now means to change the face of your marketing efforts by grasping a business strategy across all channels of your consumers touch points.  Utilizing recent trends like cause marketing, will leave your consumer compelled to make a purchase.
