BBC launches fashion competition in aid of sustainable and ethical fashion

Posted by fashionentrepreneurreport On Friday, August 08, 2008
The BBC is holding an exciting new competition, Style Search, to help raise awareness to the importance of ethical fashion and sustainability. Up until the end of August, they are asking aspiring fashionistas and stylists to submit a photo of themselves or a friend, styled in vintage, customised, second hand, fair trade or organic clothes and accessories.

The Result?
Judges will whittle down four finalists who will attend London Fashion Week in September and compete in a task to decide the final winner. This winner will assist our stylist at the Thread fashion show.

How do I apply?
Once you have styled the outfit, take a digital photo of your creation and send it to the BBC, along with a 150 word description of your ethical creation, including where the clothes and accessories were sourced.

You must be over 16 to enter and entries must be received by midday on Tuesday 26th August. Head to the BBC website for more details on competition entry rules, judging criteria, and links for sources of inspiration! The deadline is midday 26th August 2008! http://www.bbc.co.uk/thread/stylesearch/
