New York Fashion Week Spring 2010: Derek Lam

Posted by fashionentrepreneurreport On Sunday, September 14, 2008

Derek_Lam_Spring_2010Americana… bold and brave, took flight with Derek Lam’s Spring summer 2010 collection.
Blues in azure and aqua, citrus hits of tangerine and limoncello and patterns of florals and stars so happy it would make any woman happy enough to shed her winter layers and hit the lido deck.  A throw back of an era where women actually bought wardrobe for their “winter house” there were plenty of pieces to lounge (blousy shorts, one piece suits for sunning) and lunch tangerine trenches and skirt suit separates.
The beauty of Lam is that he listens to his clients, sees what sells well in his store and using that as market research gives his fans something similar with a new fresh twist each season. That is evolution and truly the mark American Entrepreneurialism.
