Marsha Goes to Hollywood: Model Seeks Revenge on License Plate

Posted by fashionentrepreneurreport On Wednesday, May 20, 2009

Marsha Goes to Hollywood, purple backgroundI am beginning to find this industry more and more curious. I shall just cut to the chase and explain…This week began with a fabulous, Fresh Faces party from FORD Models at Crescendo Nightclub. Photags. Bookers. Fresh Faces galore and an Open Bar. Sounds like fun, n'est-ce pas?
The “New Faces” all stood out wearing variations on the black mini-dress introducing themselves to new clients. I have to say, I was flattered to be approached by so many blossoming young men (not in dresses), begging for a chance to snap a picture with me. There were old friends, new friends, fren-emies and a plethora of cling-ons who simply didn't belong.
This week's highlight however, were the cars parked out front not the models inside. One of them being this car- I thought it was so clever that I had to share. Yes folks that is a Honda, and yes the plates are personalized.  Well at least he/she is proud.

I have to admit, my face might not be feeling so new, but I am feeling ULTRA modern. This week I am honored with the privilege to show some of my own sculpture art as apart of a fashion showcase at the Young & Modern Party, a benefit for the Pritzker Foundation for the Modern Wing at the Art Institute. My fellow comrades: Michelle Barone and Marisa Swystun, also graduates from the Fashion Department at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago will be showing their fantastic creations in conjunction with my sculptures for the body. This party actually launches the Modern Wing of the Museum, so amongst the Pollock’s we shall stand.  The opportunity is HUGE, but in the meantime…

AHEM- let me just say... as I snort sawdust out of my nostrils- the AKIRA Creative Office is under serious renovation. Basically, I never sleep- I don't eat much and for sure when it rains it absolutely pours around here. I have no desk and therefore no computer, this column comes to you via Iphone and any samples I want to hang to steam will guaranteed get a wallop of Oak bits whether I am going for eco-friendly or not.  Well, at least our carpenter is a FORD model, good eye candy never strays far from these walls.  I am super excited. Soon I will have my very own gorgeous work station equipped with a 23" monitor and a glossy printer all of my own. WOW. I am getting old. Now, where's my gold?
