NYC Against HIV: Education and Fashion Show

Posted by fashionentrepreneurreport On Saturday, May 09, 2009

The NYC Against HIV: Education & Fashion Show was held at Brooklyn College on Friday, May 8th.  The event showcased a plethora of designers who had jetted over from England to display their work.
Not only were the fashions fabulous but so was the message behind them. The overall event took a fashionable approach toward promoting safe sex.

Emma Bell’s designs were the stand out of the evening.  Her whimsical jewel and feather encrusted animal head hats were spectacular. Every inch of the models were covered in bright colors, have it be their metallic, sequin, hounds tooth clothing or loudly printed tights.  Color was the name of the game and Emma did not disappoint.

Florescent Doc Martens and mega volume hair complimented every designers look.  Fantastically styled, there was cohesiveness to the show that tied everything together beautifully.

Other designers included; KEIR by Sara Keir Wright, Kalchmann by Doris Kalchmann, Roshena Chadha, Pitchouguina by Anna Pitchouguina, Eleonore De Ruuk, Firkant by Elena Kikina Firkant, Soul STYLE by Tapti Tapan, True Love & False Idols (Matt Meyerson), Perfectly Flawed by Karl Slater and Massive Silver by Margret Karner.
