Shaggy Texture Fall 09

Posted by fashionentrepreneurreport On Monday, April 06, 2009

Pucci Sweater Fall 09Whether it be wooly knitwear, long haired furs, or flouncy feathers, layers came both horizontally and vertically this fall.
Mark Fast stood out to us as the British Designer, known for his knitwear, incorporated fringy gypsy details on mini-dresses fitting for Stevie Nicks back in the 70’s.  Haider Ackermann also used the trend to his advantage incorporating it in a sex-infused scarf top amongst cool silk liquid dresses cut on the bias, high-waisted trousers and the perfect amount of leather. Rodarte’s sisters Mulleavy put forth their best collection in the past two years, not as shockingly editorial, sure, but meshed with muted ice blue, seafoam and mushroom tones and patched into vixen type shapes by placing different fabrics together in an architectural pattern.  Pucci, the chunky knit, the zipper leather motorcycle pant… what?!? Where were the floral mini dresses, the quaint swimwear, and the sequins woven into kaleidoscope fantasy?  They were there (revival of classic 50’s Pucci prints that is) we just happened to fancy the prior, which with Peter Dundas at the head, seems breathe new life into a classic house.
