“Heart Attack”, a series by Amanda Dolan was absolutely fabulous. Held at Ward Nasse Gallery in Soho, chocolate hearts, pink cupcakes, and heart confetti adorned the gallery. Energy radiated off Amanda and onto the canvas, translated into an amazing 55 pieces created over 9 months. Each painting contained hot pink and dripping hearts mixed with either string, sleeping pills, playing cards, glitter or cut outs. The combination of mediums made the canvases pop. “Heart Attack” was happy with an edge. I left the gallery smiling with a pink chocolate heart lollipop in my hand and walked into the New York night.
