New York Fashion Week 2010: Vivienne Tam

Posted by fashionentrepreneurreport On Sunday, September 13, 2009

Vivienne Tam Spring 2010In looking at my notes all I could say was Lou Doillon, Angelina Jolie flowy red carpet, Vanessa Paradis.
One of her best collections ever, Vivienne Tam’s Spring 2010 collection was French Boho Chic, entitled “Butterfly Lovers” and the influence was quite literal.  Butterfly prints in flowing maxi dresses, butterfly cut-outs on khaki (a noted popular color for the season) embedded into the fabric and printed monarch details zoomed into a more abstract notion as the color palette got darker for evening.
The palette was muted tangerine, lavender, grass green and khaki with hints of a deep indigo.
To add to the theme Tam partnered with HP to create the “fashionista’s must-have accessory”.  The digital clutch fuses high fashion and technology.  A pretty little laptop for that woman on the go, complete with the “Butterfly Lovers” print.
Frankly I don’t know what I want more.  The maxi dress or the computer, but I will be patient enough to waitlist for both.
