New York Fashion Week Spring 2010: Temperley

Posted by fashionentrepreneurreport On Wednesday, September 16, 2009

Temperley_Spring_2010Entitled “Circus” Alice Temperley put forth a collection heavy on individual style… her own.
Not listening to “spring” each garment was a frenzy of details from tattoo–inspired patterns to details that echoed that of the harnesses that hoist the performers above the big top.  Other touches were over-sized plume feathers, gold embroidery, top hats, elaborate neckpieces and layers of organza.
With all of these touches one would think that the entire presentation tended toward the costume but each detail was actually a nuance and not an overt statement, it was only the accessories that took the entire look over the edge.  Broken apart out of the film (done by Georgie Greville and Greg Brunkalla) and pulled away from the spinning circus spire, Temperley’s Spring 2010 collection will stand up well next to any of it’s competitors.
