Box Eight LA Fashionweek 2010: Michael Costello

Posted by fashionentrepreneurreport On Sunday, March 21, 2010
My new favorite to emerge from the hip LA fashion scene is Michael Costello. This Palm Springs based designer took the audience shook us and gave us a slap in the face with his mesmerizing and beautifully draped gowns and dresses. Michael has owned a boutique in Palm Spring since he was 14 making him no stranger to the fashion world.

Sophisticated, elegant fabrics and gorgeous detail could best encapsulate this presentation. Black hand macramé circles sewn together with beautiful crocheted lace draped in to an amazing backless gown really took the crowds breath away. Equally stunning was the “Sabrina Wedding dress”. Sabrina claims Michael was made as he draped it pinned it and stitched it up in less than 2 hours. Made out of upholstery fabric turned inside out with a crystal breastplate and oversized hand made 85 petal flowers, which were burnt and frayed nothing other than masterpiece could describe it.

If I were a financial backer interested in fashion I would bet my fortune on this mans future success.  Thank you for a great display of pure fashion excitement Michael!
