Elie Saab presented his Fall 2009 Couture collection at Pavillon Cambon Capucines on July 8th.
Every article of clothing that came down the runway was pearly white, as the looks were differentiated based on cut and the intricate detailing of crystal, ostrich feathers, and tulle or fabric appliqués. A crystal encrusted asymmetrical mini dress had one sleeve that reached the wrist and jutted down to the hemline of the dress. Ostrich feathers covered the broad shoulders and hips of an otherwise obscure beaded covered dress. White patent leather platform heels along with sheer white tights and matching nail polish on the models hands and feet mirrored the monochromatic clothing. It must be noted that only six months prior, Karl Lagerfeld put on an all white show in the same venue. Everyone knew, could it be possible that Elie Saab didn’t?-Oriana DiNella
