New York Fashion Week Fall 2010: Luca Luca

Posted by fashionentrepreneurreport On Sunday, February 14, 2010
Consistently inspired by the modern women that truly wear his collection Creative Director Raul Melgoza followed the same rules for Fall 2010.  a line-up heavy in narrow fitted sheaths (a growing theme here in NYC) details were scrumptious: wool cashmere, laquered tweed, boucle twill.  All weather appropriate, but done with such lightness that it made me wish for Fall.  Absolute favorites…  the silver silk taffeta Trench that opened the show and almost looked like gunmetal.  The gold sequin cocktail dress which I could see in a second on Blake Lively.  The entire mauve run packed with hammered silk, and a black beaded bodice and tucked silk gauze skirt connected to become a cocktail dress worthy of a Fitzgerald novel.  The gowns didn’t dazzle as much as hoped but lengthen a couple of the cocktail numbers and Luca Luca will be Oscar ready.
