New York Fashion Week Fall 2010: Edition by Georges Chakra

Posted by fashionentrepreneurreport On Saturday, February 13, 2010
Inspired by Russian Aristocracy, the Edition by Georges Chakra Fall 2010 show was stock full of extravagant flourishes.  Figure hugging intros, but away graphic elements and menswear inspired backwards tuxedoes. If Russia was the influence it had to be Russia 2040 because there was a space age element to the collection lines. The metallic fabrics were luxe yet modern and the use of lace was perfect there were a couple of red pieces that were clearly meant for his celebrity and socialite following as they didn’t necessarily “flow” with the rest – but tied in with a Vampy Moscow red (Mahoghany and Diva respectfully said a MAC Artist) and some plump luscious skin (no foundation and MAC’s Oil Control Lotion to plump and tighten) the girls looked like they stepped out of the icy street of Mother Russia and into Chakra’s 22nd Century world.
