New York Fashion Week Fall 2010: Chictopia10

Posted by fashionentrepreneurreport On Saturday, February 13, 2010
A room full of social media junkies blogged away at the Chictopia10 summit where the website introduced the room to a handful of new designers.

One Stand-out was Corvus Noir a line that reworked vintage costume jewelry.  The designer took antique brass blocks and added an art deco spin with a focus on gold. Some pieces dated back to the early 1900’s were hand polished and embellished with modern details.  The crowd loved a 1920’s pocket watch layered with a unique brass chain as well as a gold chain necklace with a mini original picture frame housing the original black and white photo.

The show stopper however was Nolcha’s January Introducing designer JCheikh.  Partners Sophie Lin, Cheikh Lam and Justin Min treated the audience to a room full of dapper men donning bowties and perfectly tailored suits.  Lots of tweed (rapidly becoming a menswear favorite for Fall 2010) and the finale, a red velvet suave British aristocracy styled suit modeled by a boy with floppy hair and bedroom eyes caused the girls to both giggle and gasp.  We know what they’ll be blogging about this Valentines Day.
