Miami Swim Show 2010: Xtra Life LYCRA

Posted by fashionentrepreneurreport On Sunday, July 19, 2009

Bogart Lingerie LtdFifty years of Lycra.  Iconic in itself, this fabric changed the way designers work on a daily basis.
Fit can be considered in more of a risk-taking way now that LYRCA is around and to celebrate that, Gretta Monahan of “Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style” opened the show which revealed Fifty pieces, some archival (from 1960-1980) and others in the current 2010 swim collections.
The styling was beautiful as models were adorned with huge bows, leafy animal ears and five-star designer label shoes to set off the unique pieces.  Designers such as BECCA Swim, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Speedo and many more who did not have their own runway show were able to show LYCRA constructed pieces to an audience full of cheering fans.
The beauty in the presentation was the textile of the future where the last 5? Suits which came from experimental and innovative manufacturing plants and brands Phael, Bogart Lingerie Ltd., MAS Linea Aqua, and Fook Wah showed the next stage of fashion in swim.  The construction on the last Scuba-inspired one piece by Bogart Lingerie Ltd. was beyond perfect, fitting the body perfectly as the model strutted down the runway.  The blush and black combination was soft and strong at the same time.
