The Best of On/Off

Posted by fashionentrepreneurreport On Wednesday, February 24, 2010

Samantha Cole’s Hour-glass quilted white as snow mini dress that brings forth a Narnian princess.

Tessa Edwards genius use of cut outs where missing pockets give way to sequined panties and jersey is looped through vinyl hips accents.  A little bit Star Trek a little Gwenivere from the legend of Camelot, either way it is a role we will be more than willing to play.

Sophie Gittins’ winged heels, lace brocade and metallic elements make it a modern goddess’ dream that will go perfect with every single little hourglass dress from New York to London and most-like with what is yet to come in Milan.

Aroma 30’s Old Hollywood glamour with fur stoles and large silky bows will make anyone feel like an A-lister and would look perfect on every red carpet from California to Cannes.

Brooke Roberts ingenuius knitwear which infuses lurex with wool but is digitally printed from medical scans.  The jumpsuits were fun, the little dresses were more practical, but either way, if it is something we’ve never seen before done better than we could ever imagine, it has caught our eye.

Derek Lawlor’s knitwear using wax cord creating texture and shape.  But the moleskin pencil skirt was one of the favorites of the entire exhibit.

Richard Emden’s handbags which due to the woven leather have almost a humanistic rib-cage effect are glove soft, functional and made in a new grey neutral that should replace the “basic” black bag you see toting around town.

Simon Ekrelius’ collection entitled “Stardust” which had elements of gunpowder, black and grey along with bits of yellow, fluffy organza’s, yarn silk and hand dyed cotton organza to create a mix of femininity and innovative shape.
