CURVENY packed in as much as they could during their NYC tour showcasing their Fall/Winter 2010 selections all while leaving little to the imagination. With "The So Curve New York Lingerie Fashion Show" and three days of showcasing a little over 100 designer brands of lingerie and swimwear, buyers and trend reporters left with a satisfying idea of what is hot for Fall/Winter 2010 and what trends to expect starting Spring/Summer 2011.
1) Detailed but Subtle: fairytale pastels, silks, satins, “Alice and Wonderland” themes, delightful decoration, antique nudes, and domestic inspiration
2) Sexy Traditions: designer blues, sexy status for domestic patterns, plaids, woven browns, alpine romance, and “young attitude” embroideries
3) Up-market PJ Dressing: PJ classics in a fashion context, dandy spirit, eccentric version of menswear, pretty patterns, heirloom underwear is a hit while leaving the material lightweight
4) New Weights and Volumes: new proportions, “treggings”, multi-functional, lighter scale tops, urban athletic, artistic constructions (crinkled and creased), casual luxury, and a touch of lace
5) Influence from other cultures: exotic Indian and Mexican looks, ornaments (metals and buttons), copper, and golds
6) Contemporary Laces: new all-overs, functional by increasing elasticity, ultra light weight, statement lace (optional and graphical), and exotic geometrics
7) Technique Meets Creativity: the marriage of technology and charm, a new erotic language, sexy architecture, and lightweight forms
8) Shapewear with Fashion: retro, more cove red forms
9) Theatrical Impact: bold, theatrical, ornamental placements, new decollates, purples, satin glamour, and the corset
10) Eccentric Luxury: move away from black into teals, peacock colors, and purples. Rock chic with material research for new fabrics in the works.
