As New York City prepare's for Fashion's Night Out we catch up with participating retailer Plaza Too...Nolcha: How do you feel as an independent New York fashion business receiving support from Mayor Bloomberg for this initiative? Plaza Too: I think it iss outstanding, very measurable and gives us a unified voice to talk about when there really isn’t anything to discuss.
Nolcha: Do you feel any competition to get the consumers attention against the major powerhouses such as Macy’s, Bloomingdales, Bendels etc as the shopper has limited times to visit so many retailers? Why?Plaza Too: No I don’t see any competition whatsoever. I believe this event has nothing to with sales, it is about straight awareness. With all of the major retailers advertising and marketing budgets by my participation I am on the same playing field as they are and spoken in a similar conversation.
Nolcha: What are the benefits of Fashion’s Night Out for your store? Plaza Too: Establishes us as being inventive, part of a community that now more than ever needs to support each other with a simple concept of “what is good for me is good for you” or “you can’t keep it unless you are willing to give it away” Nolcha: Three words to describe your store.Plaza Too: Simple, unpretentious and modern
