Simple and safe with epaulets on every jacket to keep with the trend was the name of the game at Pink Tartan’s show for LG Fashion Week Toronto Spring 2010.
Neutrals ruled with black, white and grey punched up by the occasional blue sequinned tank dress or ochre embellished shift. Short short short for dresses like simple LBD with sheer shoulders and off-the-shoulder 3/4-length sleeve in black satin. Splashes of sequins. Hair in simple low buns with flattened tendrils. Wayfarer-inspired shades, fedora-style hats, and multiple chain necklaces. Caramel-coloured leather mini-skirt and jacket stood out. Off-shoulder Grecian-style cream top paired with high-waisted black bubble mini-skirt was on trend as was cream jacket with epaulets revealing white ruffled sleeves and matched with a fitted Bermuda short. Pink Tartan is simple, classic accessible, wearable and easy to retail straight off the runway. Feminine in an androgynous rather than pretty kind of way.
